Laboratory of
structural cell biology
The Team
We combine different methods in cryo electron microscopy (cryoEM) with biochemical and biophysical techniques to understand more about the structure and function of multi-component molecular machines.
We are working on a number of projects including microbial motility, bacteriophage infection and mitochondrial disease. We aim to provide important new insights into cellular processes that are essential for life. Our research helps to inform new ways of treating disease.
Where we are
The lab is located at the University of Exeter in beautiful south west England. We are a stone's throw from some of the UK's best national parks and beaches.
